Hunter spent most of her childhood seeking out adventure with friends and family…bedtime was spent dreaming up stories inside her head.  Things haven’t changed much and she now spends her time travelling, practicing yoga & meditation, and writing her dreams down on paper.

Christine graduated from McMaster University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  After graduation she quickly found her passion writing children’s stories.  She is also a certified Children’s yoga teacher where she finds much of her inspiration these days, and will soon be taking on the biggest role of her life as a first-time mom in Stoney Creek, Ontario where she lives with her husband Bruce and their Boston Terrier, Bruin.

Christine believes strongly in self expression and intellectual freedom and is a big supporter of literacy.  She’s spent time volunteering inside library settings helping children with learning and/or emotional disabilities, as well, she regularly combines story with yoga in her group classes, hoping to further promote literacy among children.

She is a member of SCBWI (The Society of Children’s book writers & Illustrators), and a member of McMaster University’s alumni association.

Christine is already hard at work on her next story for children.

Blooma and the Portal is Christine’s newest book.
blooma - Version 2Blooma May Buckles is the new girl in town.  She’s adjusting fairly well to life in Japan despite the fact that she misses her best friend back home in Canada, she has no job and her father works too much.  To make matters worse, she falls through a portal into a different dimension and must wait one full week before she can return home.   Turns out, the place she ends up in isn’t that bad, filled with adventure, a pie-room, other children who have fallen through portals from different places in the world and soccer playing robots, Blooma’s favourite sport.  Will she ever get back through the portal, back home to her parents?  And why does everyone call her Blooma when that’s not her real name?
