Characters are the fuel that drives the engine of our story. They give reason for a reader to devour our story to its very end. Characters need to be well drawn, solid and compelling.
What do you need to know about a character before you begin writing your story?
We love it when an author has a thorough working knowledge of his or her characters and all of the characters are more than one-dimensional, not just the protagonist and the antagonist.
Therefore we suggest you start with some of the basics:
Age, Sex and Name (a name can be a very important part of a character’s habits and psyche).
Parents and siblings and their basic information.
Education and work histories.
Likes and dislikes.
